Why I went to handtied hair extensions
I am a SEASONED extension wearer. I have been wearing clip-in extensions for about 10 years now! I have really really fine hair, so I always feel like my hair is kind of meh. Most days I wake up every day, and clip in about four layers on extensions. BUT THEN, a salon reached out to me about their handtied extensions. I’ve been looking for a salon in the area (I have not had my hair done since I had Riley), but never really put in the effort to find one, since I worked all the time. I had to wear my hair up at work, so there was really no point to me in ever investing in a good hair cut/color. Because I have always worn extensions, it always seemed pointless to me too because I would literally go get my hair done, and then just put in my extensions.
When I looked through The Megan Diez salon pictures, I was sooo pumped…. Finally, a hair place that specialized in color/cut & putting in handtied extensions? YES PLEASE! I said, “ABSOLUTELY, SIGN ME UP.”
These extensions are appealing to me because I am mom of two YOUNG kids. There has been MANY times where my kids have grabbed my hair in public and pulled them right out. My husband also found it really creepy that my hair was just laying around the house all the time. My clip-in extensions were also bulky & uncomfortable & I always felt like you could see the snaps through my hair. I couldn’t pull my hair up unless I got creative with the clip-ins & occasionally I would feel them “pop” or “snap” undone throughout the day.. Just a lot of management.
With these, I never have to touch them. I barely feel them, I can shower and wash (or…. dry shampoo more likely) and never have to worry about them.
The whole process took about three hours. I first got the DIY blonde I tried to do out of my hair. She then did a cut & balayge. She then put in each extension. It was really fascinating to watch. Check out this cool video of how she did it.
But, if NOTHING else convinces you, it should be this…..
The only upkeep is that I will go back in about 8 weeks to have them pulled up as my hair starts to grow out. Which is 100% worth it to me than having pieces of hair lying around the house. Trust me, your husbands & kids will thank you, trust me.
