How to do a moss art feature

THIS ONE was super fun. You all obviously already know about my obsession with rap music. I try to integrate hip-hop into my home any time that I can. This project was super fun & it is SUPER easy. You could do it for a bedroom (spell out a kid’s name), an event (a birthday or wedding), or just do a cool wall feature like I did. It’s probably one of the easier art projects I’ve ever done. Where I struggle is worrying about it looking “perfect”, but honestly the less perfect you are with the moss, the better it looks.

All you need is cardboard letters (I purchased mine from Michael’s Craft Store), bags of moss, & LOTS of hot glue. I didn’t do the sides of the letters because I felt it would be a little much, but you could easily do the entire letter. The total project cost me roughly 150 bucks. I thought it was different and unique, so I was all on board with this one. I like the color it brings to our house too. I tend to use a lot of blacks, whites, and greys.

If you’re thinking, “OK, so how do I do it?”…. It’s almost embarrassing, because it’s literally just as easy as hot gluing pieces of moss onto these cardboard letters. I wish I had more detailed instructions, but it is seriously such an easy craft for a big wall feature. I didn’t use the moss sheets, because I like the dimension of the different colors and pieces. You can get bags of these on Amazon here & here. They’re about 8 bucks!

In total for this entire project, I used about 10 bags. I have leftover, but I wanted to make sure I had enough to cover everything. It took me a total of ~3 hours. I could have done it a LOT quicker, but…… #momlife. I will advise to do it somewhere you don’t mind getting messy, unless you have a Shark vacuum. I just did it down in our bedroom, but because I am an OCD freak, cleaned it up every night after I worked on it.

I’m EXTREMELY impatient & UNLIKE any other engineer who properly measures before hanging, I literally just throw it up. I put this up with thumbtacks before Church because I was so tired of our dining space. It needed a pop.

SO THERE YOU GO! GRAB YOU A HOT GLUE GUN & SOME MOSS & GET TO WORK. IT’S NOT ONLY A FUN PIECE, BUT ALSO A COOL CONVERSATION PIECE. NOW I GET TO TELL EVERYONE ABOUT MY LOVE FOR BIGGIE SMALLS.

ALSO, if you thought I posted this for any other reason than to post these amazing pictures of my son, you are mistaken. ;)
