Valentine's Day Blondies

Sometimes I am amazed at how common sense just escapes me. I don’t consider myself a phenomenal chef, but I do know a thing or two about baking. Back in my pre-kid days, I was an expert in making fondant styled cakes to celebrate any sort of occasion.

I have been trying to be more “FESTIVE” now that I put myself in the “content-creator” basket, so I thought I would whip up some Valentin'e’s Day blondies (Fortunately, a seasoned coach’s wife explained to me why they are called blondies rather than brownies…… which makes total sense). I like PRETTY things, but I am really impatient when it comes to following a recipe. I usually end up just putting my own twist on it, because … that’s just more fun. But, it works out when the recipe is totally easy + looks pretty too.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2/3 CUPS butter

  • 2 CUPS flour

  • 2 CUPS brown sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/2 TSP vanilla

  • 1 TSP baking powder

  • 1/4 TSP baking soda

  • 1/4 TSP salt

  • 1 CUP chocolate chips

  • 1 CUP Valentine’s Day themed M&M’s

RECIPE:

  1. Cook butter & brown sugar over medium heat in a saucepan. Stir until smooth.

  2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

  3. Spray 9 X 13 pan with cooking spray

  4. Set aside & let cool for ten (10) minutes

  5. Add both eggs and mix until smooth.

  6. Mix in the flour one cup at a time and stir until fully mixed.

  7. Add in the salt, vanilla, baking soda, and baking powder.

  8. Mix in HALF of the chocolate chips and the M&M’s.

  9. Spread evenly into greased pan & sprinkle the remaining half of M&M’s/chips over the top.

  10. Bake for 30 minutes!

Super delicious & super easy! Pretty too :)
