Interior Design.... How I make it easy!

I hear this all the time. “You’re so good at decorating. I just don’t know how you do that.” STOP THAT. Yes, you do! I’m going to share some of my secrets with interior design, using a few simple concepts. First of all…. You don’t have to sink a ton of cash into making a space look chic and inviting…. not one bit. Let me show you something..

This was my son’s nursery when he was first born. I thrifted that dresser for 75 dollars, and the rug was a score off Ebay. But, that’s besides the point. See how I’ve styled the dresser. That little white vase was $3 dollars at Target & the “H” was off Amazon. But, you see that white branch? That’s straight out of my front yard. I love adding pieces with dimension & texture. I got that branch from the front yard and spray painted it a matte white. Price: nothing….. besides white spray-paint which I keep in stock. :)

I thrifted the man print on the right. The print on the left is the lyrics to a Warren G song that I had blown up at Staples & framed. This is one of my design hacks. You can literally blow any sort of print/design you make up at Staples as an engineering print for 3.99. I do it all the time! If you are interested, I can do a separate post on DIY hacks like that. There is no reason to pay a million dollars for oversized art prints. You can make them yourself.

I am a BIG believer in keeping things fun and bright. I think adding random pieces & DIY decor make a home truly a home. A l0t of my pictures I don’t even hang. As you can see on a lot of my credenzas, I just stack different size prints on them & then put a piece above. I have gotten MANY of those taxidermy skull heads off eBay for SUPER cheap. I like to use those throughout my home. They are fun to dress up during holidays too.
